Bengali Subtitle Generator
Bangla speech in, Banglish or Bangla-script captions out.
Most subtitle tools give you Bengali in Bangla script or nothing. But look at how Bengali is actually typed on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, in Kolkata and in Dhaka alike: "ami tomake bolchi", "kemon acho", "onek bhalo". That is Banglish, and for short-form video it is what your viewers read fastest.
DesiCaptions transcribes Bengali speech and writes it the way people type it, with the "o" sound Bengali actually has ("kolom", not "kalam"). Prefer Bangla script? Switch the language to Bengali (Bangla script) and the same video comes out in proper Bengali letters, with English speech translated rather than spelled out phonetically.
Either way every word carries its own timestamp, so word-by-word and karaoke caption styles land on the beat, and the Bangla-script mode ships with fonts that actually contain the glyphs, so you never get empty boxes or broken juktakkhor.
Why creators use it
Banglish the way it is typed
Captions come out as "ki khobor" and "bhalo achi", the spelling your audience already uses in comments. No diacritics, no Hindi-style vowels.
Bangla script when you want it
Pick the Bengali (Bangla script) mode for a Bengali-first audience or formal content. Bundled Bengali fonts keep the conjuncts intact in the burned video.
Handles Bengali mixed with English
Real speech drops English words into Bengali constantly. In Banglish both halves share one alphabet; in Bangla script the English is translated, not transliterated.
Word-level timing
Every word carries its own timestamp, so word-by-word and karaoke caption styles land on the beat instead of drifting.

Start for freeFrequently asked questions
What is Banglish?
Bengali written in Roman letters, the way people type it on phones: "tumi kothay", "ami jani na". It is not a translation, only the alphabet changes, and the words, tone and slang stay exactly as spoken.
Will Bangla-script captions render correctly in every caption style?
Yes. Bengali captions are set in Noto Sans Bengali, or Baloo Da 2 for the comic templates, in both the editor preview and the exported video, so what you see is what burns.
Does it work for Bangladeshi Bengali as well as Kolkata Bengali?
Yes. The speech model handles both, and Banglish spelling follows common phone-typing conventions. Regional spellings you prefer are easy to fix in the transcript editor.
Can I get English captions for a Bengali video instead?
Yes. Choose English (Translate) and the Bengali speech is translated into natural English captions.
What does it cost?
There is a free plan with 2 free minutes and no credit card required. Each video uses exactly its own length from your balance. Paid minute packs start at 12 USD or 799 INR and never expire.
