How it works
Tanglish is Tamil written in English letters, the way most people type it in comments, WhatsApp and Reels captions: "enna machan, eppadi irukka?". It reads instantly for anyone who speaks Tamil, including people who rarely read Tamil script.
This converter rewrites Tamil script as Tanglish the way people actually type it, not letter by letter. It follows how Tamil is spoken (மகன் becomes "magan", வாங்க becomes "vaanga", நன்றி becomes "nandri", தமிழ் becomes "tamil"), drops the long "aa" people skip at the end of words ("amma", "nalla"), and turns English words in Tamil script back into English, so வீடியோ becomes "video" and சேனலை becomes "channelai".
