How it works
Tenglish is Telugu written in English letters, the way most people type it in comments, WhatsApp and Reels captions: "ela unnaru?", "chala bagundi". It reads instantly for anyone who speaks Telugu, including people who rarely read Telugu script.
This converter rewrites Telugu script as Tenglish the way people actually type it, not letter by letter. Long vowels are written the short way people type them (చాలా becomes "chala", బాగుంది becomes "bagundi"), doubled letters are simplified (వచ్చింది becomes "vachindi", కొత్త becomes "kotha"), and English words in Telugu script come back as English, so వీడియోని becomes "videoni" and హైదరాబాద్లో becomes "hyderabadlo".

Converting subtitle files
Upload an .srt, .vtt or .txt file and only the Telugu text changes. Caption numbers, timestamps and any English already in the file stay exactly as they are, so the file goes straight back into Premiere Pro, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve with the timing intact.
How accurate is it?
The converter follows fixed spelling rules for Telugu plus a list of common words, and it runs entirely in your browser. Everyday Telugu comes out clean. Names, rare words and some long words can come out spelled a little differently from how you would write them, because there is no single correct way to write Telugu in English letters. Read the result once and fix anything that looks off.
Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored.

Is this Telugu to Tenglish converter free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no limit, because the conversion runs in your browser rather than on a server.
Does it translate Telugu into English?
No. It changes the script, not the language. The words stay Telugu and are written in English letters, so "మీరు ఎలా ఉన్నారు?" becomes "meeru ela unnaru?", not "How are you?".
Can I convert an SRT subtitle file?
Yes. Upload the .srt, .vtt or .txt file and download the converted copy. Timestamps and numbering are left untouched.
Why is a word spelled differently from how I write it?
People write Telugu in English letters in different ways (chala or chaala, cheyandi or cheyyandi). The converter picks a common form. Edit the result box directly if you prefer another spelling.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The text never leaves your device.
