How it works

Banglish is Bengali written in English letters, the way most people type it in comments, WhatsApp and Reels captions: "kemon acho?", "khub bhalo". It reads instantly for anyone who speaks Bengali, including people who rarely read Bangla script.

This converter rewrites Bangla script as Banglish the way people actually type it, not letter by letter. The hidden "o" is written where it is spoken and dropped where it is not (ভালোবাসি becomes "bhalobashi", করবো becomes "korbo", ধন্যবাদ becomes "dhonnobad"), and English words in Bangla script come back as English, so ভিডিওটা becomes "videota" and কলকাতায় becomes "kolkatay".

Converting subtitle files

Upload an .srt, .vtt or .txt file and only the Bengali text changes. Caption numbers, timestamps and any English already in the file stay exactly as they are, so the file goes straight back into Premiere Pro, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve with the timing intact.

How accurate is it?

The converter follows fixed spelling rules for Bengali plus a list of common words, and it runs entirely in your browser. Everyday Bengali comes out clean. Names, rare words and some long words can come out spelled a little differently from how you would write them, because there is no single correct way to write Bengali in English letters. Read the result once and fix anything that looks off.

Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Bengali to Banglish converter free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no limit, because the conversion runs in your browser rather than on a server.

Does it translate Bengali into English?

No. It changes the script, not the language. The words stay Bengali and are written in English letters, so "তুমি কেমন আছো?" becomes "tumi kemon acho?", not "How are you?".

Can I convert an SRT subtitle file?

Yes. Upload the .srt, .vtt or .txt file and download the converted copy. Timestamps and numbering are left untouched.

Why is a word spelled differently from how I write it?

People write Bengali in English letters in different ways (bhalo or valo, ami or aami). The converter picks a common form. Edit the result box directly if you prefer another spelling.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The text never leaves your device.
