How it works
A lot of Gujarati on Instagram, YouTube and WhatsApp is typed in English letters: "kem cho? majama?". It reads quickly for people who speak Gujarati every day but rarely type Gujarati script, and it works in every caption font.
This converter rewrites Gujarati script in English letters the way Gujaratis actually type it, not letter by letter. Silent vowels are dropped (મજામાં becomes "majama", કરવાનું becomes "karvanu"), ફ is written "f" (ફાફડા becomes "fafda"), and English words in Gujarati script come back as English, so વીડિયોમાં becomes "videoma".
Examples
| Gujarati script | English letters (Roman) |
|---|---|
| કેમ છો? મજામાં? | kem cho? majama? |
| આજે આપણે ઢોકળા બનાવીશું | aaje aapne dhokla banavishu |
| વીડિયો ગમ્યો હોય તો લાઈક કરજો | video gamyo hoy to like karjo |
| ચાલો, ગરબા રમવા જઈએ | chalo, garba ramva jaiye |
Converting subtitle files
Upload an .srt, .vtt or .txt file and only the Gujarati text changes. Caption numbers, timestamps and any English already in the file stay exactly as they are, so the file goes straight back into Premiere Pro, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve with the timing intact.
How accurate is it?
The converter follows fixed spelling rules for Gujarati plus a list of common words, and it runs entirely in your browser. Everyday Gujarati comes out clean. Names, rare words and some long words can come out spelled a little differently from how you would write them, because there is no single correct way to write Gujarati in English letters. Read the result once and fix anything that looks off.
Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored.

Is this Gujarati converter free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no limit, because the conversion runs in your browser rather than on a server.
Does it translate Gujarati into English?
No. It changes the script, not the language. The words stay Gujarati and are written in English letters, so "તમે કેમ છો?" becomes "tame kem cho?", not "How are you?".
Can I convert an SRT subtitle file?
Yes. Upload the .srt, .vtt or .txt file and download the converted copy. Timestamps and numbering are left untouched.
Why is a word spelled differently from how I write it?
People write Gujarati in English letters in different ways (che or chhe, su or shu). The converter picks a common form. Edit the result box directly if you prefer another spelling.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The text never leaves your device.
